Roy Hodgson passed his first real test with Liverpool as they won 0 – 2 in Macedonia and put the supporters minds at ease with a tricky game put to bed with two goals from David Ngog. Maybe the young Frenchman can fulfil his ample promise and start scoring much needed goals for the Reds and justify his place in the squad !
Indeed Ngog has definitely been watching and taking notes on how to score goals as his second bore a great resemblance to many scored by Torres and we will surely need a few more in this mould from him in the future.
Preparations for this game were far from ideal and only a few players would actually feature in the preferred line up, so this result was commendable to say the least. Liverpool looked in total control against Rabotnicki, and Hodgson,s young side displayed resilience and quality and never looked in danger of achieving anything other than a win.
Aquilani should have added a third and even Kyrigakos could have rubbed salt into the wounds, but two goals should serve to ensure that basically the same team will wrap things up in the home leg.
However the powers that be need to ensure that any incoming players are wrapped up ASAP , so as not to leave Hodgson in the unenviable position suffered by Benitez whenever he wanted to sign players !!
LFC take note !!!
Sort out Hodgson,s requirements immediately, do not destroy the feel good factor that will only enhance the start to the season.
Next weeks home leg should have the Kop purring and cheering for more, and if you want to be impressed then take a look at the Calida Girls at Calida Gaming and see whether this will leave an impression on you also !!
